How a hospital architectural composition integrated into a natural setting can contribute to the enhancement of the accommodation, treatment, and healing of patients!
The William Lennox Neurological Hospital is expanding. The Sports Pavilion is the first stage of the ArborEssence project for the renovation and extension of the hospital. It was inaugurated in the presence of two Belgian athletes: Eléonor Sana, visually impaired and Paralympic ski champion, the first Belgian female medallist at the 2018 Paralympic Winter Games in South Korea, and Ismaël Debjani, Belgian record-holder in the 1,500 metres and semi-finalist in this distance at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.
On this occasion, the first stone marking the start of the construction site was laid ,and a liquidambar, a symbolic tree, was planted in front of the centre. This magnificent tree marks the hospital’s attachment to its wooded environment.
