Wellwood: final ceremony

The final ceremony, or “bouquet final,” is a long-standing tradition in the construction trade, celebrating the completion of the structural phase by placing a decorated branch or tree adorned with flowers atop the structure.

This age-old ritual originates from the guilds of craftsmen & traces back to ancient tree-worship customs in Northern Europe. When a tree was felled for construction, a branch was kept to adorn the building, honoring the spirit of the sacrificed tree & invoking its protection.

The ceremony also marks the start of festivities: it provides an opportunity for everyone involved in the construction process—workers, the project owner, architects all contributors to the structural work—to gather for a convivial reception, sharing a friendly drink in a relaxed atmosphere.

In good company with project owner Codic & CETIM SA, the leadership & construction teams of the general contractor CIT Blaton, along with several other project partners (SECO Belgium , B4F, COSEAS sprl, etc.), we celebrated the completion of the structural phase.
