At assar, we believe that innovation & collaboration are key to tackling the climate challenges of our time. That’s why we were excited to participate in the 6th edition of Climathon, an event bringing together students, entrepreneurs & experts with a common goal: to design concrete solutions to address current climate needs.
For 48 hours, 85 participants put their creativity and expertise to work on three major challenges proposed by committed companies. As an official partner of this event, Assar presented a challenge that is particularly close to our heart: integrating reused materials into construction in an innovative and sustainable way.
Our vision? To enable architects to easily choose between new and reused materials for every construction decision, thereby advancing the industry toward a more circular economy.
As the official sponsor of Climathon, we chose to pose a challenge directly aligned with our mission and commitment to sustainability: how can we implement a new economic approach that encourages the reuse of construction materials?
Today, reuse remains costly and complex, often less attractive than using new materials. There are many barriers: a lack of effective connections between recoverable materials and their potential buyers, the high cost of recovery and integration processes, and insufficient education for industry professionals.
